The structure used to house pumps for a mine's sea water intake system experienced sever corrosion problems leading to severe deterioration of the concrete walls and floor

Overview

Advanced Restoration Solutions for Corrosion-Prone Structures

At our company, we utilize advanced radar surveys to accurately assess concrete cover and identify vulnerable areas behind rebar. Our process includes precise demolition, strategic grit blasting, innovative Electrochemical Chloride Extraction, and reinforcing structures with additional materials, ensuring durable restoration.

Solution:
CORROSION REMEDIATION CONCRETE STRUCTURE

Due to the severe degradation of this concrete structure, conventional concrete repairs were not suļ¬ƒcient. In this case it was necessary to conduct a radar survey to determine concrete cover, and demolish any areas to the back of the rebar where cover was less than 75 mm. Following demolition, the rebar was grit blasted, additional reinforcing added where necessary, new concrete was poured with additional concrete cover, and our proprietary Electrochemical Chloride Extraction method was employed. Finally a coating was used to prevent further ingress of chloride ions

RESULT

Our expertise has successfully restored structures housing vital equipment for sea water intake systems in mines. By addressing degradation's root cause and applying our specialized methods, we've ensured prolonged functionality, even in highly corrosive environments. Our track record underscores our commitment to excellence in fortifying concrete structures against corrosion-induced deterioration.
